Christmas Greetings 2013
It has been almost a year since we crossed the border from the US into Canada. The memories of a few months ago are still fresh in our minds. In November 2012, we agreed to come to a foreign land, an island, to serve the Lord in advancing the interests of His Kingdom in Newfoundland’s Burin Peninsula. The months have gone by quite quickly leaving behind memories that will live in our minds ‘till the day our Lord calls us from the rest from our labors at His Second Coming.
Since our arrival in Marystown much has changed among us and around us, an indication that life on Earth is nothing but an illusion and yet the Word of God stands unchanged regardless of our status. His Word reassures us, however, that it will never return empty. Some of you, we have not seen for some time. Others have been with us in spite of the challenges we have encountered, and others we are yet to meet, if ever.
For those of you who have supported us at various stages of our ministry this year, thank you so much for being such a blessing to us. As divinely appointed, the Lord has seen fit to give you as a gift to us; you are our family. As all families, we are not born loving, we grow and learn to appreciate and love one another.
Our appeal to all of you is the same as the Apostle Paul:
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. …That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11, NKJV)
May the Spirit of Jesus overwhelm you and your family. May the Word of God be heard audibly in your respective homes. May the Lord grant you life abundantly. May you all be emptied of the cares of this world and be filled with the peace of Jesus which transcends all understanding.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
